KRUCKOW,
Frederick Charles Sr.
Age 74, of Big Flats,
NY, passed away Sunday,
December 13th, at
Bethany Manor after a
courageous battle with
Alzheimer's and
Parkinson's Disease. He
was predeceased by his
parents, George Kruckow
Sr. and Hazel Frederick
Kruckow; his brother,
George Jr. (Nancy)
Kruckow. He is survived
by his loving wife of 53
years, Rita (Vineski)
Kruckow; his son,
Frederick Jr. Kruckow
(Mary) of Evans GA;
daughter, Christine
Kruckow-Kemp (Mike
Hausner) of Montour
Falls, NY; his nephew,
David Kruckow (Karen) of
Erin NY; and his
grandchildren, Matthew,
Stephanie, Elizabeth,
Katherine, Casey, and
Emily. Fred graduated
from South Side High
School of Elmira, NY in
1954 and was employed as
a graphic artist at
Commercial Press, the
Star-Gazette, and at the
Ithaca Journal where he
retired after 28 years
of service. He was a
devoted and loving
husband, father, uncle,
and grandfather who will
be missed dearly. He
spent his winters in
Florida and his summers
at Waneta Lake where he
enjoyed going fishing
and boating. He loved
his dogs, John Wayne
movies, and repairing
old clocks. He was a
member of St. Mary's Our
Mother Church, All
Saints Church of
Lansing, NY, and The
Sons of the American
Legion in Horseheads,
NY. Family and friends
are invited to call at
the Olthof Funeral Home,
Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania
Ave., Elmira/Southport,
NY 14904 on Thursday,
December 17, 2009, from
3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Services
honoring Fred's life
will follow the
visitation at 5 p.m.
with Deacon George Welch
to celebrate his life.
Interment will take
place privately and the
convenience of his
family in St. Peter &
Paul's Cemetery. In lieu
of flowers, donations
can be made to
